TASC expands cyber security and secure cloud computing capabilities with acquisition of TexelTek

CHANTILLY, Va., 3 June 2011. Leaders of Aerospace and defense systems engineering specialist TASC Inc. in Chantilly, Va., are boosting their company's expertise in military information security -- particularly in government secure cloud computing -- with its acquisition of TexelTek Inc. in Annapolis Junction, Md. The acquisition enhances TASC capabilities in cloud computing, network consolidation and virtualization, data analytics and cyber security, company officials say.TexelTek develops security-aware applications for the defense and intelligence communities. The acquisition was announced today, and the TexelTek Website already identifies TexelTek as "a TASC Company."

TASC officials say the TexelTek acquisition also will expand the company's profile with government customers, as well as TASC's profile at Fort Mead, Md., which is home to the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).
